Code Camp Was A Hit

Well, the Alabama Code Camp seems to have been a big success yesterday. There was a pretty good showing of 150 geeks or so. I really enjoyed the sessions that I attended. In particular, Todd Miranda's session entitled Ajax: A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing as well as Dr. Viji Sarathy's session regarding Aspect Oriented Programming were awesome. Most of the demos will hopefully be posted on the code camp website in the next day or two.

Hopefully, this will help spawn a .NET User Group for the Birmingham area. There definitely seemed to be strong interest among the attendees.

MCSD Status...Finally
As of Thursday afternoon, I finally achieved MCSD status from exam 70-315. It has been a long time coming since taking the first exam over a year ago. The process of getting engaged, buying a house, and getting married caused a slight delay in my plans to get certified before the end of 2004. At any rate, it is finally over...until the new tests come out next year.

Say what you will about certifications, but preparing for the exams has been an excellent opportunity to learn more about .NET and remind me of some things I haven't used in quite a while.

Alabama Code Camp
The Alabama Code Camp is coming up soon. Don't miss out on this free event! It is a great opportunity to meet other developers of the community and get a look a quiet a few varied topics. If you know of anyone that would like to do a presentation, I hear that more speakers are needed. For more information, check out the website here: http://www.alabamacodecamp.com

Inaugural Blog Post
Well, I have been saying that I would start my own blog for the last 2 years or more. I finally decided it was time to just do it. There won't be much to see for next few weeks. I am currently focused on completing my final exam for MCSD status. After that is done, I have a very long list of projects that I look forward to getting started. One of the first things will be giving my site an overhaul and posting a .NET article. So, please check back in the coming weeks and critique my technical rambings.
